In terms of universities, HKU still ranks first in terms of average annual salary of $400000;
The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Education University of Hong Kong followed with average annual salaries of $399000 and $353000 respectively.

Wages are rising and unemployment is falling:Among the eight graduates last year, the overall unemployment rate was 2.2 per cent, down 0.2 percentage points year-on-year.

According to the university, the unemployment rate of the city university dropped sharply from 5.4 per cent to 1.7 per cent, the most obvious drop, while the unemployment rate of the university was only 0.8 per cent, the lowest among the universities, and the university of science and technology with an unemployment rate of 3.3 per cent was the higher.

The remaining disciplines present different return curves.

The lowest average annual salary is for liberal arts and humanities graduates, only 279000 yuan.

The high returns in science and engineering come more from high-tech positions such as scientific research, data analysis, and biotechnology.

The starting salary of liberal arts is not high, but the growth rate has outperformed most disciplines, and it is not weak in the long run.

Medical science relies on professional threshold to make a steady profit, science and engineering relies on technical barriers to add points, and liberal arts relies on time for space.

This prompts parents and students, when choosing a major, in addition to looking at the current salary, it also depends on whether the industry threshold is high or not, and whether there is a clear career path in the future.

The latest college employment data for 2025 released by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology shows that the salary trend of different colleges is diverging.

Behind these figures is not the decline in the competitiveness of Hong Kong schools, but the changing job market as a whole.
